"A shame..." Guang began, lowering eyes at the news of the noble's fate. "To be honest, Lord Pan, I believe that a talented man such as yourself would be a welcomed addition to our forces here in Changsha."

Pan Zhao has been accepted into the ranks of Taishi Guang!

Please post officer info in the appropriate thread.

Pan nodded, "of course. I expect some sort of rank too. And a salary of at least 50 taels a month. And some new servants, mine being all dead and stuff."

Pan looked around the Audience Hall. "And you need some things to brighten this place up. Servants. Wall hangings. Paint. Soldiers. Lots of Soldiers."

Smiling, Guang chuckled at the suggestions of the noble Lord. "Of course. I am, afterall, new to the game and I need the expert advice of someone like you to keep me in line... and you can expect a rank on the first of the month, Lord Pan. Until then, please make yourself comfortable here in Nanjun and call upon me for aid in anything that you may need."

The recent letter brought out the curiosity of Jiu Zang that he brought it to Gu Xi to look at. The two concluded that this was indeed a strange man, for his letter did stand out from the others. Thus it was agreed upon that they would visit him posthaste. After days of travel they soon arrived to the destination with Jiu Zang approaching the guards. "We're expected. You may search us if it's required." Than they waited.

The head guardsman shook his head in response to Jiu Zang. "No search is required. Please, follow me." Leading the two men through the city, they eventually enter the walled administrative complex, and then the main audience chamber. Inside, a group of robed officials were gathered near the dais in the back of the hall. Instructing the two men to wait for a moment, he then made his way over to the group and spoke with one of them. The group dispersed, but one man broke from them and approached the visitors.

As he came close, he cocked his head slightly, observing the men before him. "Welcome to Nanjun," he stated, "I am Taishi Guang. I take it that you are Masters Jiu Zang and Gu Xi, correct? I hope that you did not have too much trouble traveling all the way down here to Changsha..."

It had been about a months time since Jo and the Lord of the lands he now stood in known as Nanjun had spoken. Walking along the fair rivers which were strategy placed about the city, he smoked merrily from his opium pipe, riding his stead slowly into the city depths.

As he peared about the bustling streets of the fair city of Nanjun, in the far reachs of the Province of Changsta, a small smile curled over the sides of his lips, smirking aimlessly as he peered about the city. He had made his way to these lands once before, though they were for his own personal business, but he knew where the Administration's Complex was located, in the center of the town, guarded by many troops and laced with banners and flags representing the lord who ruled these lands.

Coming to the gate of the complex, Jo Ker dis-mounted his stead, tying it's rein too one of the nearby poles, securing it fastily in a firm knot. He approached the gates, walking diligently with almost perfect posture, tapping his Jiang against his bronze armor as he nodded to one of the outlaying guards. "You there." He stated, pointing to one of the gatekeepers.

"Inform your master, Tiashi Giang, that Lord Jo Ker has arrived, for I am expected and do not wish to keep his lordship waiting." He added, giving off one of his usual, sarcastic smirks, beaming confidence as he always did.

After escorting the warrior into the audience chamber to meet with their liege, the guards instructed Jo Ker to wait while they announced him. One of the guards approached Guang, who was standing near the dais, and informed him that there was a visitor. Giving a smile, Guang walked towards the man and bowed politely.

"Welcome Master Jo Ker... I have been expecting you", he stated, apparently pleased to see that Jo Ker had indeed come. "So I take it that you have given thought into joining my forces?"

Jo Ker simply nodded to the lord, bowing wasn't really the type of thing someone as unruly as the bandit lord was accustom too. He smiled fiendishly as he drew from his opium pipe one last time before shutting the valve, seasing the smoke which eminated from the tube of the rather intricately designed smoking device.

"Well you see Lord Tiashi Giang, I have given it some thought, but there is something you must understand." He stated, tapping his uniquely designed Jiang against his clad armor and smiled once more, patting the lordship on the back once for good measure.

"I would indeed like to join you Lord Tiashi, but there is something I would like in return, nothing big really, just to be respected amongst your men as one of your lead generals, it may be sudden but I think I am more capable than any of the soldiers and generals that are amongst your mits. I've been on both the losing and winning side of battles, and I am accustom to retreating when necessary, or knowing when to settle something in the easist and least amount of bloodshed as possible, we don't want your armies reduced to rubble now do we?" He added softly, speaking fluently and diligently, meaning every word he said.

"That can be arranged, Master Jo, for I would not have sought out your services if I didn't believe you to be an extremely talented field commander", Guang replied, crossing his arms over his chest. "However, there is something that I must make clear before such a thing can happen..."

Giving a sigh, he then continued. "I understand your past and your desires, from both your words here and in our correspondence. However, for you to be the commander of my armies, you must understand that every direction and command I give is to be obeyed. Whether in regards to the battlefield or peacetime, obedience and discipline must be maintained. If you can agree to that, then you will become the mightiest general our land has yet seen..."

Jo Ker smiled vaguely, pleased that the master of these lands had agreed to his request. But upon hearing his commands and terms, he was kind of shaken. He expected this from the Lordship he would serve, and of course he would do all within his power to obey him.

He gave off a simple sigh and nodded, "The past is the past Lord Guang, let us not dweal upon it, for I am a changed man. Sure I sitll enjoy the thrill of a good battle and using my superior strategic skills to conquer my enemies, but I have learned from my failures, and bloodshed is not always the answer." He retorted, extending a hand to his Jiang and unsheathed it, making a cut to his own hand while holding the steel sword firmly in his untainted hand. The blood dripped down onto the marble floor as he extended it outwards in an embracing motion.

"This is how we bandit's made a pact, a blood pact, and if the pact was ever broken, well....you pay with blood, and in most cases, your very life. I swear to you now Lord Guang, I will obey your every command, so long as it is within reason and does not suicidally endanger my life." He stated, looking deep into the lordship's eyes sternly, keeping that hand out, waiting for the Lord of Nanjun to take it in his own.
