Chen Yun's Audience Hall - Gaomi

"Myself? Well I grew up in Luo Yang, with my parents, who ran the city library, so I always had a fondness for books. I would spend my early years for hours on end reading all that they had to offer me. When I became old enough to help them, I would help organise the shelves of books and scrolls, as well as scribe some books for paying customers. It is mostly from those books that I learnt about engineering, diplomacy, and administration. When the emperor died, our Library was sacked, and I was seperated from my parents. So I decided to explore the lands, seeking more information so thaty I may become of some use in calming the chaos." Min finished, remembering a few of the more grisly details she had left out.

"Is there anything else you wish to ask of my background, master Chen Yun: Min enquired.

"Anything else? Well, I guess I should know how you feel about the self-declared King of Qi?" Asks Chen Yun, knowing the answer to this question could mean the difference between a successful meeting and a failure.

Upon seeing Xiao-Niao Min's reaction and hearing her words, Chen Yun thought he had a chance at recruiting her. "Tian Dan and my lord can not live in peace, as Tian Dan told my Lord's brother Tian Gong that if anyone from the forces of Qi saw them, they were to be killed on site. I don't know all the details of the meeting, as I wasn't there, but as my lord's brother went there six months ago to achieve peaceful relations, especially as we only had one village between the three of us, and Tian Dan much, much more. I can only assume that his threats and his recent actions prove that any sort of peace would have been short-lived. Now we are preparing for the eventual battle between our forces, and we would be honoured to count you among our allies against this tyrant and his ilk. What do you think, would you be willing to aid us in this endeavour?"

"I..I would, but, I would still need to think on it. I have other offers as well to consider, and I have to be fair to everyone that took the time to contact me. I thank you for your offer, and will note I have not said no."

Min stands up, and bows to Chen Yun.

"I will try to contact you as soon as possible on my desicion, and thank you for your hospitality master Chen Yun."

"I understand. I'll have the guards escort you back to your companion." Responds Chen Yun. "I hope to hear from you soon."

A massive figure comes up the approach road to Tian Loc's audience hall. It could be the heat blur off of the road, but this figure would seem to be as tall as a tree, twice as wide, and, from the expression, or lack thereof, on his face, about half the brains of one.

He finally finishes the exhausting mental drain of walking by allowing his limbs to just gently slide to a stop; the action could be described as similiar to continental plate drift.
Opening his mouth further than his usual half-open gawp, the man mountain speaks to the nearest guard,
"I'm Yao Ling. Gonna sign up to..." here his expression falters, looking like someone attempting a complex algebra puzzle, but finally relief spreads across his face, as he remembers;
"Tian Loc. Gonna Do My Bit. Need to speak to him."
Finished with his thought for the day, he settles back, satisfied that he had said all that needed to be said.

Except it hadn't. A thought suddenly swan across his mind; like a drowning man through wet concrete, and he bludgeoned his mental processes into opening his mouth, and saying,
"What're dem fings with the words on? Pieces of paper. Y'know, with the scrawly thing at the bottom. Can't remember. Uh...
...Oh, yeah. Letters. I ain't got none. Do I need one to get in?"

With that, Yao Ling ceased this sudden flash of mental brilliance, and subsided into his usual posture, which is to say; mouth open, gawping at something in the distance, eyes unfocused, arms at side, and all in all looking like a man who is waiting for the next thought to turn up.

The guards were used to people who were unusually tall, Including Tian Loc and the taller Chen Yun. This man however, was taller then even their giant second in command. The guard in command decided to send a rather scared looking guard to inform their leaders of Yao Ling's arrival, making sure to write it down in case he was unable to remember it on his own do to fear. The guard then addresses Yao Ling "No, a letter is not required, but giving up your weapons until after the meeting and a search to confirm is required. I that OK with you?"

Yao Ling stands mute. He stares at the sky, then the ground, then a bird that happened to be winging it's way near Yao Ling, then the door to the hall, then, finally, back to the guard;
"'K. I haven't got no weapons. You can search me."
The big man stared around some more, and then asked,
"How will I know where... Tian Long is?" along with the pause to allow Yao Ling's memory to catch up with his racing brain.

He stands for another moment, and then remembers his addition;
"I'm not too good at rememberin' stuff. Are there signs?"
