He did not dislike humble persons, but he wanted people to be praised and recognized for their ability. Speaking on a most confident, but still warm tone, Yiye Shana ddressed Jin Kai's companions.

"Masters Wu Bei, Zhang Mai, Bianmi Fu, if your spokespersons speaks the truth, then you are fools ; fools for following someone with so humble skills, as he says. Please prove me wrong and tell me of the ability of the man you respect and have chosen to follow, let not his "self-humble-ness" make me mistake him for a mere peasant without use."
Zhang Mai spoke first. "Our brother draws men to him as flies to honey. He knows the ways of administration and is gifted in the art of money."

Wu Bei, speaking next declared, "He is more gifted in the ways of diplomacy than any I have met. He has greater gifts with his tongue than I with my weapons, or Zhang Mai with his mind."

Bianmi Fu put on his gap-toothed grin when it was his turn. "I just like him. I gave up a lot to follow him, and yet I don't feel like I am missing out. That's the kind of guy I can follow."

Yiye Shan eyed the man up and down in surprise for a moment before rising to his throne to walk down the few stairs that led to the ground level. He continued his movements toward Fei Xun and commanded him to rise on a serious, but surprised tone. "Why do you kneel before one who has yet to prove his worth to the world? Please rise and look at me as an equal and brother. Allow me to be the one asking for your skills and help to realize the dream that is mine and the land's. Be not my servant, but that of the common dream of your brothers and sisters who suffer throughout the land."

Please post your Officer Information in the Yiye Shan's Officers thread located in the Officer Information board.
Fei Xun rises upon hearing Yiye Shan's words and bows fluidly from the waist. Though aging in years, Fei Xun retains some of his youthful vigor and suppleness. "That you would offer, demand even, such equality from your followers lightens my heart. I will gladly assist you in realizing this dream we both share, and my heart shall rejoice every time the word brother rolls off my lips. You are an inspiring example to us all. May our enemies tremble in their beds this night, as this union is founded."

YIye Shan grinned at the words of the three men and turned to Jin Kai after hearing them all. Speaking on a friendly tone, he voiced his thought son the matter through a challenge. "Master Jin Kai,Inow dare you to humble yourself furthermore and insult your friend and brothers by saying they are liars." He then chuckled on continued with his earlier subject. "So, what do the men before me think of the state of the land?"

Yiye Shan grinned at the man and motioned for one of the numerous doors that populated the audience hall. Speaking on a warm tone, he voiced the following words. "I will show you yours quarters and give you a short tour of the administrative building. After that, I will have a... special assignment for you." He added the last parton a mysterious tone.

Further Roleplay that is done outside of the Audience Hall Room shall be done in the Private Kingdom Roleplay Thread located in my planning hall.

Jin Kai merely nodded. "It is one's place to praise their own talents. If they say good of me, who am I to argue?

"The land is in upheaval, as is plain for all to see. The Princes of Qin have taken what their father built and smashed it as a pot upon stone. The rebellion by the King of Chu, and the subsequent rebellion by his subject, the King of Zhao, have made things more complicated. Of immediate concern to those of us in the north, however, is the disorder in Yan and the rise of the ambitious magistrates.

I count Fei Lak amongst my friends, but he and those who follow him are not handling the land of Yan well. In Changshan, the village chieftain Xiong Xushou has corrupted the people to overthrow a longstanding and much loved governor so that he could claim his post. The massive armies of Wu Chen sit on the doorstep, and still the other magistrates sit and wait. It is not a pleasant time in our country."

OOC: Sorry for the slight delay, I had my first day of College today. ^.^

Yiye Shan nodded at the grim words of the man before him. He spoke of the other men who had risen in power throughout the north on a rather bad note. He was no exception to the rule, he too had his mistakes and weaknesses, but he was determined. Speaking on a confident tone, Yiye Shan replied to the man. "I will take your words about the other lords of the north in consideration, but I will not judge them solely on your words nor on their actions in these dire times. I will not tell you that I am different and better than them, for even I know not if it is the truth. I am but an humble lord who has attracted many followers and who has as a goal to restore unity and peace to the land."

He paused there and looked down a bit. "I have no rank nor fame, I have no name nor face, but I have a dream and am determined to realize it. I want to end this chaos, I don't want the father sof young men and women slaughtered before their very eyes." He paused there again, before rising his eyes to look at Jin Kai again.

"I don't want children to grow in constant fear, watching the land tear apart and have their villages burn by boiling rivers of blood. I want to promise the youth of the future A scythe to cut the harvest and wheelbarrows to carry the food to the table of their family rather than swords and spears covered in the blood of their brothers." Yiye Shan had clenched his fists sometime during his speech. His eyes burning with passion, he ended the long flow of wordson a more hopeful note. "I am no better than the next man, but I intend to breathe, live and die for this dream to come true... and should I need to deny my soul entry to the eternal springs for it to be realized, I shall do it without hesitation, so I may look up at the souls of the men and women whose lives will have been spared by my actions."

Jin Kai took the words of Yiye Shan, then weighed and measured them carefully before responding. "You have passion. That is both a blessing and a curse in this land. It is men of passion that are tearing this country to pieces but they are also the only ones who can bring it together. Each breaks themselves away as they seek to unify. What do you think will happen when you meet one who matches your passion? My goal is simply to return peace, but I fear my own strength is insufficient to bring it to all. For this reason I use it to simply bring peace to those who follow me."

Yiye Shan nodded slowly at Jin Kai's statement. It was an honest question, but answering it was a tricky matter. He thought for many seconds before answering it, but when he did, he did it on a serious and confident tone.

"Should I meet one as equally passionate as I on the fields of battle, then there will be no use for us to debate fiercly accross that field. We shall pull back and fight in the neighborhing fields instead, where we shall compare our virtue, discipline, mind and, if it cannot be avoided, force." Yiye Shan paused there for a moment. "I will tell you something, master Jin Kai, when soldiers and commanders are sent to battle, it is not to win. If a battle is to be fought willfuly, it has already been won. That means that should I meet one as passionate, virtuous, disciplined and wise as I and my comrades, then they shall be worthy of being called allies. Allies with whom I may build a better tomorrow. However, if their ambition clouds their judgement and that they choose to fight an equally strong foe head on and waste the lives of their people, they have already lost."

(OOC: Bien sur. Désolé pour le délai, j'ai eu une fin de semaine de fou.)

The diplomat was allowed to proceed inside if he consented to be searched and stripped of his weapons. Once in the waiting room, it did not take too long before he was escorted into the main chambers, where Yiye Shan was sitting on his humble throne. The magistrate rose to his feet and walked down the short stairs that led to his elevated seat to welcome the man from Yan.

"Welcome, master Ma Dieu, I am magistrate Yiye Shan, what may I do for your lord and yourself?", asked he after stopping ten feet away from the visitor.
