"The lady had mentioned Ye Zhi, or at least hinted enough for me to know of his name, so for me to - between the two of us - take a small step towards peace would be achieved by ridding the world of the man. He's threatened my life over a simple invasion free of death, so what other means of destruction and murder could this bring to the lady Ying, hmm? He, in my opinion, would very well defy the lady over personal matters." Ma remembered he was in the presence of Wu Chen: a king - a politician. A politician never cared about anything that hadn't affected himself, thought Xiang. "Forgive me, you musn't care of my own matters, so I assume you've more important affairs to attend to. May I dismiss myself if you've no more to say, king Wu?" Ma nodded his head, awaiting Chen's response.

Not long after the retreat from Zhongmu Lu Ying took it upon herself to travel to Julu before heading home to the city of Yanyu. She had heard the King was in the city, but she couldnt understand how he would stay in Julu while his armies died on the field in droves. Walking through the city and up to the cities administrative building Lu Ying bowed to the guards on duty.

"Is the King available?" She asked the guards before pausing "I must speak with him"

The guards were less in number than usual, and Lu Ying noticed that many attendants were scurrying around, directing men with various loads here and there.

An attendant was summoned, and Lu Ying was led into the small palace, but instead of being taken to the audience hall, she was shown to Wu Chen's chambers. The doors to the rooms were wide open, and men were scurrying around, packing up various items. In the middle stood Wu Chen, wearing armor, and laying about him with a whip. When the attendant announced Lu Ying, he jumped, turned around, and stared wildly at her for a moment. Then, he forced a smile and lowerd his whip.

"Ying! It is . . . . good to see you!"

Lu Ying took in the chaos of the scene before her with a note of caution, something strange was happening and she had to know what.

"Chen.... my King..."She said with a pause before going on "What is happening? I spoke with Chen Yu and he said he hadnt seen you for some time, I was worried something had happened, some misfortune or accident had befallen you" Lu Ying said with concern.

Wu Chen shook his head, "No, no! I am quite fine now, though I was terribly ill for some time. I am just now preparing myself for the coming war. I have told my servants to pack my posessions and move them to the military encampments. No longer will I rely on others to fight my wars!"

He smiled and stood straight, "We will stand strong against this unholy alliance, will we not? Tian and that fellow in Yin?"

A small escort of 100 well armed men arrive before the city. They request an armed escort to take over prisoners of war. A well dressed diplomat calls for the captain of the guard.

"Prefect Fei Lak delivering the rebels from Quni. Not wishing to enter your city with armed escorts, if you would be so kind to take the carriage over with some armed men as we have several prisoners within. I am Lin Huan, a representative from Yan. Within we have Zhou Fei, Wu Shi, Ergon Geng and the head of the traitor as well."

The man waited patiently outside the gates of the city, the carriage behind him.

Lu Ying smiled outwardly, not sure of the confidence of the King. She had been at Zhong Mu with the general Chen Yu and new how powerful just one of the opponants of Zhao were. With the might of Qi also pressing in on them she was not sure they could hold out for long, let alone beat off their opponants. Still, the Kings confidence was infectious and she trusted him.

"You know I will always be at your side Wu Chen. If you lead, I will follow" Ying said while taking a step forward and placing around Wu Chens wrist, squeezing it softly before letting go and smiling

The guards at the gate quickly summon the garrison commander who rides out with an armed escort. The commander bowed to Lin Huan. "I am Yu Lue, commander of the Julu Garrison. Your Prefect has defeated Han Guang and his officers? This is excellent news. Please, come speak with our King, I am sure he would desire to hear these reports in person.

Wu Chen nodded, a little too emphatically and then kicked a nearby attendant who had dropped some of his armor on the floor with a clatter, "Fool! I am talking to the Prefect here!"

Wu Chen turned back to Lu Ying, "I hear that the King of Qi struck one of your cities in Jibei. I planned on coming to your aid immediately, but then I find that my Changshan army was stolen by that vile pig Han Guang. I grew so distressed I feel victim to a terrible stomach complaint, and General Chen was forced to lead my troops in my name."

He frowned, "What do you think, dear Ying, of General Chen? Or Colonel Zhang Er? With the betrayals of Han Guang and Li Liang . . . I need new seconds, are they reliable men?"

Lin Huan returned the quick bow and motionned the carriage forward.

"It would be an honor to meet his majesty and report the fall of the vile dog that dared to enter Yan."

Lin Huan followed the commander and submitted to any search that was necessary and submitted anything deemed not appropriate. He obviously also consented to a search of the carriage which held the box with the head of the defeated Marshal and the three prisoners.

Lin Huan followed the commander and submitted to any search that was necessary and submitted anything deemed not appropriate. He obviously also consented to a search of the carriage which held the box with the head of the defeated Marshal and the three prisoners.

Yu Lue ordered an entire squad of his men to surround the carraige and escort it to the city prison. Two men took charge of the box with the head in it, and Yu led Lin Huan into the city, not searching him or the four guards he allowed to accompany him. The rest were offered a spot in the nearby gate barracks to draw on water and rations.

Lin Huan was eventually led to the Administrative building and brought to the audience hall of Wu Chen, his guards being ordered to remain outside, though Lin was allowed to keep any weapons he had.(Assuming you agree to this Fei Lak)

Wu Chen was standing in his hall, conversing with a pair of generals who quickly stepped to one side at Lin Huan's entrance. Wu Chen beamed at Lin Huan.

"Friend Lin Huan! You bring me good news, I hear!"
