Naxr wrote:The guard captain nodded to the soldier with the reins, who then proceeded to lead the horse to the stables. Turning back to Xian Jue, he waved in the direction of the giant entrance to the audience hall, "Come, follow me."

Assuming he follows, he is led through the doors and into the hall. About a minute of walking later, the two found themselves about twenty paces from the throne where King Xiang Kai sat. On both sides of him stood Kai's elite guard, ready to defend their lord at all times. Among this guard was Dan Ro, Kai's personal bodyguard. The guard captain announced once Kai laid his eyes upon him, "Xian Jue is here to see you," he bowed.

Kai looked to the visitor and spoke, "Xian Jue, welcome to my audience hall. How may I help you?"
Holding his sword in his left hand, the swordsman flashed a calm smile before he followed the guard captain within. As a holdover from his previous occupation, Xian Jue glanced over the furnishings of the great hall, acclimating himself to his new environs and preparing himself for action if the need ever arose. He gazed calmly at the seated form of the King and the elite guardsmen that stood at attention at either side. Especial attention was paid to Dan Ro.

When he was introduced, the swordsman bowed from the waist before straightening. With nary an emotion on his features, he spoke. "I am a wanderer currently in search of a lord to serve. Once I served the Prefect Xiong Xushou as his personal swordmaster and bodyguard and later his successor, the Prefect Jin Kai. But because of Jin Kai's cowardice in surrendering to Li Zhu, I left Changshan in disgust. I am here today to offer my services to Your Highness. For decades, I have honed my skills as a swordsman and once upon a time, my real name was feared across the lands."

Kai leaned back on his throne, slightly taken aback by the quickness with which this man offered himself to Liang. He watched the man stand there for several seconds in silence before he responded, "You offer your services to me? I am honored by this show of respect. But first I must ask, what do you hope to gain by working here in Liang? I must understand why you have come here rather than any other lord, such as that Li Zhu, who I must admit to you is a friend to Liang."

"If that is the case, then goodbye," replied the swordsman with curt bow. Wheeling on the balls of his feet, he turned and began to depart from the audience chambers, muttering under his breathe. "I don't work for fools." It was a good thing that he had been imprisoned during the disastrous first campaign that Xiang Kai had ordered, where both of the top commanders were captured and were only rescued with the Pyhrric defeat of their opponents. If he had known, Xian Jue would not have deigned to make his little visit.

Travelling to Dingtao was the Duke of Jiaodong, Chen Yun. A well armed and well trained escort of a 100 horsemen surround their lord and his horse. When they finally make to Xiang Kai's Audience hall, Chen Yun dismounts at the entrance and id followed by 10 personal guards. "Greetings, I am Chen Yun, Duke of Jiaodong. I wish to speak with the Duke of Liang, Xiang Kai."

The guards stood in attention as the large group arrived. The guard captain stepped forward to address the man, "You may see the King, but your men must wait here. Is this satisfactory?"

(OOC: Damn, so much for my Zergling rush plot. :P )

"Very well, my need to meet with the King of the greatest importance to me. Is there anything else needed, or may I see him now?" Inquires Chen Yun.

"OK, follow me."

The lone man is led into the audience hall, before Xiang Kai who sat atop his throne flanked on either side by his guards, including the mighty Dan Ro.

The guard announced to the King, "Duke Chen Yun of Jiaodong is here to see you."

Kai looked at the visitor and said, "Welcome to Liang. What brings you this far from your home?"

"Thank you for seeing my. As you may know, last month I personally intercepted a raid launched by Liu Bang, something I cannot let slide. As he is in the province of Jiaoxi, and you control most of it, I thought it best to come see you about it myself, as I don't know if you have your own plans involving him and Jiaoxi. I'd hate to go to war over a misunderstanding, especially as you most likely outnumber me considerably." Replies Chen Yun, not one to beat around the bush.

"Hmm," Kai frowned. "I suppose he has been up to no good. Tell me, what are your thoughts on this matter, in terms of how you should go about dealing with him?"

(OOC: Sorry about the delay, work was really draining me and cutting into my time, but I got then next 3 nights off to RP and such.)

"Well, I had considered attacking him, but that could leave me open to an attack by Tian Dan. I doubt that Li Zhu would attack me right now, as he is currently embroiled in a war with Fei Lak, and invading on two fronts could lead too thinned out should another force attack him. I could be wrong however, as I admit I have not been keeping up with the latest info, focusing on Jiaodong since I took over from my friend, Tian Loc, when he became too ill to oversee the land of his birth." Replies Chen Yun. "I also don't know how many troops Liu Bang and Tian Dan have, though I suppose I could rectify that situation if needed."

"I am not an overly ambitious man, having risen higher then I ever expected to in a lifetime in only a year. If you have designs for Jiaoxi, I will not stand in your way. I would be content with just Jiaodong and Qi, unless someone else took out Tian Dan before I got the chance, then I would concentrate on protecting Jiaodong and counter-attacking if needed. I have no desire to spread the chaos that allows bandits and thieves to thrive, having spent years eradicating them before I partook in bringing stability to Jiaodong with my friends and allies."
