1) Yes the penalty was taken into effect when I brought that up but a 3000 swing is not enough to reflect "Calling the strategy" as it were. I had a couple of guys kicking off Raid III during that attack. It should have been more drastic. 2) Disagree as I already stated though you forget o...

Here is my feedback on the battle system so far: 1) Rock/Paper/Scissors: That is the rundown on the battlesystem at large. Yes one can cushion the blow if your strategy is called or inflict greater damage if you did not call the correct strategy but that is what it boils down to. The worst problem o...

Ironically I've read most of the books on your list there Galagos. But I stopped reading the Wheel of Time series. It went to hell in a handbasket, IMO, when he did a book without one chapter with Mat. Who is the best character in that series. I still get the impression that RJ has the final book al...

Well then if it is such an advantage to have troops, then why didn't we take troops. You have to realize that all BP are supposed to be equal in bonus. If you want to deposit your gainings in order to recieve more take a city. If you want to have soldiers and a city, take soldiers and capture the c...

I would disagree with the troop assessment. Any decent character with atleast military administrator can crank out a lot of troops each turn just from controlling a city. Take into account that recruiting and drilling is added onto this, so after the first or second turn it won't be as important. Y...

Weis and Hickman wrote a lot of stuff - Dragonlance Chronicles and Legends, both of which were very good. The followup written much later - Dragons of Summer Flame - was perhaps the biggest disappointment I've had though. I've never read a worse book with a strained storyline and lame cameos. Then ...

As far as Epic Fantasy goes, the currently writing three big authors are George R. R. Martin, Robert Jordan and Terry Goodkind. What about Margaret Weis and Tracy Hickmann (I'm more familiar with their joint projects than their solo works) I've never heard of those two, what did they write? They cr...

Eddings really is about which series you read first. Whichever one you grab and read first will live in your memory as fantastic. I read the Belgariad, and it still has a warm place in my heart as one of my earliest beloved fantasy series. The Sparhawk books were written afterwards, and Shi is abso...

I agree with Kymvir on Robert Jordan. But, I have all the books, I just can't bring myself to read them all over until it's all done. I think two authors that people neglect are David Eddings (The Belgariad/etc), and Terry Pratchett, the greatest comedic fantasty/satire writer in the history of the...

If you want true, astronomical, High Fantasy then I recommend Steven Erikson A Canadian, don't hold it against him, he has penned the Malazan Empire series. His characters are varied, indepth, and very very colorful. I also enjoy his take on magic and gods. Highly recommend this one. I used to read ...
