In the year 208, Liu Bei and his followers were nothing more than nomads looking for a home but more importantly a base of operations from which they could realize their ambitions.
They set their sights on southern Jing, the local warlords rumored to be petty and weak while the land rich and its people thirsting for new leadership. With loyal generals as great as Guan Yu, Zhang Fei and Zhao Yun not to mention the great mind of Zhuge Liang to guide them, they could not fail.
The plan was to assault Lingling and then split up forces to take Guiyang and Wuling before besieging Changsha. History would have another plan with contingents of men from Cao Cao harassing their flanks and disrupting their supply lines, the strikes that were supposed to be so quick were not. At the same time, the four warlords seemed to suddenly become incredibly coordinated and allied as they provided military and logistical support to each other.
With their forces depleted, Liu Bei was forced once again to seek the hospitality of another Lord, fleeing east to Sun Quan. Though they had been victorious, the four lords quickly fell back to distrust and scheming, also not fearing Cao Cao would come to collect their debt for his assistance at any time.
The four warlords encouraged then men of talent to flock to their banner so their would only be one ruler over southern Jing, the war had just begun with Liu Bei...
