Elder Mao approached respectfully within the hall. His hands clasped upon the moment he took notice of Yue Fei. He bowed and gave a joyous smile which lacked many teeth. "Lord Yue!" He came in at a subtle pace but his stance was tall and strong. The stance of a warrior. He looked to his seat and back at Fei. "Thank you Lord Yue. The trip was long but not overbearing." He slowly crept to his seat, the old man heaving and grunting at the slight exertion of sitting down and took a few heavy breaths. He used his robe sleeve to wipe the swept from his brows. The darkness under his eyes tells of little sleep and comfort. The ill-fashioned hairpiece barely keeping his hair up tells of little time. He was quick to pour his drink. His wine cup now full and being held in both hands. He raises off his seat in a grinding pace. Still he pushes on and makes to his Lord, presenting the drink. "For you my lord, no protector needs to pour his drink. The jar is fine for me."

Yue Fei silently pushed the top sheet across the desk and penned in brief but fluid strokes, giving the names of those who had declared allegiance, and other indications of the strength and morale of the armies. At the bottom was an assessment of the military strength in Jing, the number listed there was more than a little eyebrow-raising. With an upward quirk of his mouth, Yue Fei put the finishing touches to the bamboo scroll, being careful not to smudge the ink as it dried. "Well then..." Yue paused briefly, his lips quirking in a small frown, turning the parchment to face Ji Song. "I am still expecting some formal declarations of support..."
Chen Ping - [redacted], [redacted], [redacted], [redacted]
Ji Song - [redacted], [redacted], [redacted], [redacted]
Zhang Gao - [redacted], [redacted], [redacted], [redacted]
Zhou Mao - [redacted], [redacted], [redacted], [redacted]
Zhuge Dun - [redacted], [redacted], [redacted], [redacted]

Nodding, Song took hold of the scroll and, once ensuring the ink was dry, furled it up and inserted it inside of his sleeve. Rising, he offered another bow to Yue Fei.

"With that, I will take my leave. I am sure you have much work to be done. And now... so do I."

"If your men fight as ferociously as their lord then your enemies are surely doomed." Yue's brow then furrowed, concern finding its way onto his face as he observed Zhao. "Please, feel free to have a seat; will you not honour a toast to your triumphs, Zhao Feng?" Sighing heavily, Yue let a long moment of silence stretch out as he pondered, "If you are open to the idea of strengthening the rule of Han, perhaps this would be a place to serve. I realise that those of a militaristic mindset may loath to set aside opportunities to use their skills, and indeed this is why I require those who can lead military campaigns. Would you use your sword to serve in times of failure in diplomacy?"

Exhaling deeply, despite his discomfort with doing so, Zhao Feng forced himself to be seated. "Forgive my rudeness. But I'm certain you can appreciate how a man in my position does find it difficult to abandon old habits and drop his guard. My presence, of course, suggests my willingness to commit to your cause. But as I stated, I do require certain assurances that this is the best choice for my men. What is it you can offer in exchange for our services? As my men are mercenaries, their loyalty is best retained with coin."

A sizeable contingent of men approached Changsha's gates. They bore the colors of Lingling and were led by none other than Chen Ping, democratically elected mayor of the southwestern city!. At his side was his usual retinue, including the fierce warriors Sui Ershan and Shu Hoki, as well as Cao Tie and Fiao Dingwu.

Upon reaching the gates, Chen Ping stepped forward to speak.

"Greetings! I am Chen Ping, , here to swear my allegiance to Lord Yue. Please escort us to his hall."

Zhang Gao ruminated on all that had occurred in the last eighteen months. I'm still here. Not many would've predicted that. But I fear the story is not yet complete. As they arrived at the gates, the Magistrate took in a deep breath. Time to meet our Lord face to face.

"I am Zhang Gao, Magistrate of Bian and Rongling. Please inform Lord Yue I have come to formally swear my alliegence and offer my congratulations at his success in unifying Jing."

Zhuge Dun arrives in the city sometime after Zhang Gao. He stops before the guards before announcing himself by name only.

"I am Zhuge Dun, hopefully Lord Yue Fei has not forgotten about me."
