Overview
During the fall of the Qin and rise of the Han, the Qin Empire dissolved and the provinces realigned under their
old Kingdom names and general borders. Petty warlords and bandit kings
contended with the noble families
of those ancient kingdoms to seize power in the vacuum left by the Qin.
The patriotism these old Kingdoms inspired played a vital role in determining the ultimate outcome of the civil war,
so I have attempted to give a brief overview of each of nine of the major Kingdoms that reformed after the dissolution of
the Qin. I have also assigned the biographies of the individual officers to their respective Kingdoms. Due to the fluid
nature of the time period, some officers served multiple Kingdoms have been listed more than once.
Before delving into the individual events of each Kingdom and the men and women that lived and died between the years
of 209 to 195 BC, you may wish to read this brief overview of the major events in order to obtain a background of the
time period.
